Decisions Made
People / Management
Feedback given, coaching moments, observations.
- Slimane was able to test the mogador. That's good, he has learned a lot on his own now. This reduces dependency on me and increases the team's resilience.
Projects
Important project changes only.
- Will have to do a meeting with PO about live POC so that everyone is on the same page.
Leadership Reflection
What surprised me today?
- That indeed a manager shouldn't do the operation. I see that I am certainly capable of leading product and my team.
- Product did give a hand, I've given them enough access to be independant. That's great since I was short on hand this time. Don't think and shouldn't think that it takes away from my team. We are still defacto the ones they come to for tech issues.
What did I learn today?
- That I'm hesitant with some decision. For instance, we got an amendment to a contract. They want to charge us $3500 to translate tags from english to french. Do we need it, yes, should I accept ? I'm hesitating, despite the fact that I know it would cause a political situation internally to see content in english. Sooo why am I hesitating ? It should be a yes, I still have money in this budget.
- While writing the above paragraph, I now know that I will say yes. My fear or my hesitation stopped me from being logic. I need to stop seeking permission all the time. I will go forward with it. THis will be logged in the decision.
What would I do differently next time?
-
When I notice myself hesitating, I should ask: "Am I missing information, or am I simply uncomfortable making the decision?"
If the information is sufficient, I should decide.
Follow-ups
Only actions that still belong to me. Everything else should already be in Twos, Jira, or Monday.
